Who We Are

Since becoming the sole distributor of EOS in Japan in 1993, we have been involved with Additive Manufacturing for the longest time here in this country. Focusing on the complexity of metal AM, we have our own metal AM machines and inspection/analysis equipment and began full-scale R&D in 2009. Since then, we have become the most experienced company in Japan in application development, material development, serial production, testing, and quality assurance.

We work with many companies in the development and mass production. If you would like to know more about our capabilities, please contact us.

What we do

We started our Additive Manufacturing business in 1993 as a pioneer in Japan. We sale AM machines, dry electrical policing machines and design software which is dedicated to AM domestically only, but we accept any requests of application development, material development, serial production, testing and quality assurance from both home and abroad as the largest metal AM service bureau in Japan.

History

1977
  • Hitachi Zosen Information Systems Co., Ltd. (HZS) established
  • Begins first sales of CAD/CAM systems in Japan
1993
  • Signs sole agency agreement with EOS GmbH
1997
  • Begins sales of EOSINT, EOS’s system for AM, in Japan
  • Opens Tokyo Technical Center
If we do not know the principle of AM technology deeply, we can not use it in industry. Therefore, we decided to open the “Tokyo Technical Center” to provide technical support to our customers.
We installed EOSINT M250, S700 and P350 in the technical center.
2006
  • NTT Data Corporation acquires management rights of HZS Name changed
from HZS to NTT Data Engineering Systems Corporation (NDES)
2009
  • Opens RP Technical Center Osaka
“RP Technical Center Osaka” was established to deeply understand the core of metal additive manufacturing and the manufacturing process.
Many companies have the right products to use AM technology, but in the Japanese market, it is difficult to convert traditional methods to new technologies. To solve this problem, we officially launched “AMbition”, a service that develops processes and materials, contracts manufacturing, and transfers know-how.
2011
  • Integrates Tokyo Technical Center into RP Technical Center Osaka
2013
  • Opens AM Design Lab
We moved to Mino City in Osaka to make enough room for R&D.
This new lab, for R&D and application development of AM, was renamed “AM Design Lab” from “RP Technical Center”.
2017
  • Process patent application for copper alloy
We have succeeded in developing a process for building copper alloys, which is said to be extremely difficult to build in fine detail.
2018
  • Signs sole agency agreement with GPAINNOVA for the DLyte system
Started sales of DLyte, the world's first dry electrolytic polisher for improving surface roughness of metal AM parts.
2020
  • NDES’s AM business spun off as new company, NTT Data XAM Technologies Corporation
AM division spun off as AM solutions specialist.
Its mission is to integrate AI/IT for all processes of AM technology: design, manufacturing and post-processing.
  • Signs MoU and agency agreement with nTop
Started to sale nTop which is next-generation design tools developed by nTop.
By creating unconventional functional geometry in computational design, the company aims to contribute to high value-added AM parts, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Signs MoU with Alloyed
Became the preferred domestic manufacturer of parts made of ABD® alloy developed by Alloyed and started supplying parts made of ABD® alloy to Japanese customers and accepting orders for prototyping and contract manufacturing of ABD®900AM alloy.
2021
  • Signs agency agreement with CADS Additive
Started sales of AM-Studio, CADS Additive’s metal AM-specific support structure and process design software.
2022
  • Opens Digital Manufacturing Center in Osaka
To expand its R&D, we moved to Osaka City for more space.
The former site has been renamed Technical Center from AM Design Lab and it is the main site for technical support team of our customers who installed the machine.
